Funding Details

Purpose

The purpose of the internship funding is to provide financial support to BYU–Hawaii students that are interested in pursuing internship experience. Funding is available to support students who are interested in working in Oceania or the Asian Rim after graduation. The funding support is not meant to cover the entire cost of the experience.

Airfare Funding

The amount of funding provided varies depending on the location and duration of the internship. In most cases, the scholarship will cover the cost of a round-trip flight to and from the internship destination. All travel arrangements must be made through BYU–Hawaii Travel Services. Students should not book their own airfare, as independently purchased tickets will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Cash Support

In addition to airfare, students will receive a cash deposit to their student account, typically disbursed by Financial Services before the internship begins. The amount of support will vary based on the internship details and is intended to help offset basic living expenses during the internship period.
