Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Tropical Medical Center is the only public hospital in American Samoa, located in Fagaalu, Maoputasi County. Opened in 1968, it is a 150-bed general acute care facility ranked among the best hospitals in the Pacific. It operates 24/7 emergency services and includes specialized units in tuberculosis, obstetrics, dialysis, mental health, and behavioral health. LBJ serves as the primary healthcare institution for American Samoa's population of approximately 50,000 and is funded through Medicaid, U.S. Department of the Interior grants, and the American Samoa Government. The center is seeking candidates interested in contributing to healthcare across medicine, social work, IT, finance, business administration, and data management.
